Abstract

A structural guidance for setting up automotive simulations. A flexible and modular architecture based on common simulation standards has a lot of advantages for the development of a simulation set-up for a specific simulation task. Among others this is reusabality of simulation components, consistency from the test description to simulation results and traceability of used models and tools. This enhances process automation and the overall process quality. A basic structural approach is shown which illustrates the derivation of a simulation platform architecture. Starting with a generic description, defining the central components and tasks, in a next step appropriate standards and interfaces are selected and applied. Finally, concrete simulation archtiectures for particular Simulation Use Cases are specified.
