Abstract

This work is a short overview of the paper 'Maurel, Vincent, et al. 'Recent progress in local characterization of damage evolution in thermal barrier coating under thermal cycling.' Superalloys 2020 (2020): 813-823.' . This was shortly presented in the virtual conference Superalloys 2021. We focus here on experimental methodology associating LASAT to process interfacial defect and blister in TBC systems. This could be applied for both experimental analysis (further complex loading and measurement of debonding) and experimental local characterization (for instance FIB). This is the basis of modeling approaches developed in the PhD work of Lara Mahfouz.
