Stakeholder perspectives on sustainable future AV scenarios

Kurzfassung

The beneficial and adverse effects of automated road transport are often unclear. Therefore, authorities would benefit from a broad knowledge of the requirements, needs and expectations of citizens, transport operators, NGOs and businesses for the future transport system. This knowledge might enable authorities to adequately consider the opportunities and risks of automated driving and shape policy accordingly. Using a mixed-methods design, expected urban impacts and desired regulatory measures for automated road transport were evaluated and clustered into qualitative scenarios reflecting a desired and an expected path towards a future transport system. Both, the study design and results are presented.
