Kurzfassung
Air taxis are closer than you think! This session on Urban Air Mobility (UAM) brings together speakers from science and industry to present and discuss on the latest findings and developments in the UAM market. Researchers from the German Aerospace Center (DLR) and from Bauhaus Luftfahrt will present on their UAM projects. Among the research topics are a scenario-based assessment of the market, a collaborative system-of-systems simulation-driven vehicle design solution, and safe autonomy for the use in urban air mobility as well as for the use in unmanned cargo transportation. Volocopter’s vision on autonomous flying air taxi operations includes shaping the necessary ecosystem. The focus is on air traffic management, city regulation and the take-off and landing infrastructure. Hamburg Aviation e.V. emphasizes the role of the cities for the successful journey towards regular UAM operations and why collaboration between the industry, research organizations and public administration is a facilitator.
