Kurzfassung
A Ground Vibration Test (GVT) was performed within the certification programme of the Airbus A310-MRTT, which is a conversion of the A310-MRT Luftwaffe to a tanker aircraft for air-to-air refuelling. The GVT was performed by the test team of the German Aeorspace Center DLR substantially supported by the French ONERA. The test comprises of the identification of the modal characteristics of the aircraft up to 30 Hz in two configurations, with and without the additional pods for air-to-air refuelling. Furthermore, the aircraft was excited by rudder and elevator actuation in order to prepare the flight tests. The report describes the test setup, the test methods, the test performance, and the test results.
