Abstract

In this paper various methods for the detection of non-linearities within the framework of ground vibration testing (GVT) are discussed. The detection techniques using measured data from established excitation methods like swept-sine or stepped-sine excitation in order to smoothly implement them in current test strategies. The procedures are discussed with respect to their application limits in large-scale testing. Examples from large aerospace structures confirm the efficiency of the investigated detection procedures. The insights from this study are introduced in new test strategies which are used for vibration testing of large aerospace structures.
