Abstract

One of the biggest challenges tracking the moving target using laser based setup. Till now it is not possible to follow a moving target in XYZ direction using laser based setup. Therefore, this thesis provides an idea about tracking the target in z-direction. Due to the possibility of movement of the target, light focusses at different spot than expected. An automatic adjustment of mirror is necessary. Therefore, light can be focused on the specific spot irrespective of the movement of the target. This thesis designs and accomplishes a high precision and robust laser-based scanning system in which a scattered light from the target is focused on to the camera irrespective of the movement of the target. It mainly concerned with the tracking the movement of the object present in the environment. The experiment conducted on the laboratory achieved a novel performance of high accuracy and robustness. Furthermore, a low demand of the setup proposed low cost and reliable solution for scanning technique. The detection and tracking of moving objects are essential task in robotics. Based on the physical principle of laser and deformable mirror, the following thesis describes an optical system that makes it possible to compensate the movement of moving target in z-direction in a specific environment. In this way it is possible to implement the concept in a laboratory and specific differences between the simulated and real time experiments could be recognized. This allowed a tracking of the movement of the target in specific environment in z-direction at an early stage.
