Abstract

Within the scope of the BMWi technology program "Flexible Aircraft 2" the working package called "Improvement of FEM dynamic characteristics by GVT results" for the A340-300 is performed for the European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company (EADS) Airbus. A computational model updating (CMU) method is utilized to fulfil this goal. In this current report the preparation of experimental data from the Ground Vibration Test (GVT) is briefly presented. Following the correlation between the FE model and the measured data and some general remarks with respect to necessary modifications of the condensed model before updating are given. After a characterisation on how the final set of updating parameters were selected, a CMU run with simulated test data is performed. In the last step the condensed model of the A340-300 is updated using experimental data from GVT. The obtained results are discussed.
