Within the scope of BMWi technology programme "Flexible Aircraft 2" a working package called "Improvement of FEM dynamic characteristics by GVT results" for the A340-300 will be taken up for the European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company (EADS) Airbus. A Computational Model Updating (CMU) method is utilized to fulfil this goal. In this report the basic theory of the updating procedure is presented. After a brief description of the program sequence the efficiency of the software is shown for a typical small model. A condensed full model of the A340-300 was created to obtain fast results from the updating process and further information about the dynamic behaviour of the model relating to parameter changes. After the creation of the condensed full model a Computational Model Updating run with simulated test data was successfully performed.
