Abstract

The HYDRA Dummy, a payload structure which was designed and manufactured specially for the acceptance tests with the HYDRA vibration test facility, was investigated in two different types of modal identification tests. The first type of modal identification tests was performed with a conventional force excitation. The second test type ulitlised a multi-axial base excitation. The report describes the test performance, the modal identification and summarizes the test results. Results are docmented in terms of modal parameters and are critically discussed. In addition, recommendations are given for the performance of future multi-axial base identification tests with the HYDRA vibration test facility.
