Abstract

The noise generated due to the interaction of localized vorticity with an edge is simulated numerically. A high order numerical scheme is used to simulate solutions to Euler's equations in perturbation formulation about a given mean flow field. The numerical method is based on Tam's DRP-scheme. Simulations show the correct directivity pattern in the form of a cardioid curve as known from analytical theory and experiments.
