In this paper the EMI transmission behaviour of a switching converter from the power output to the power input is discussed. This reverse transmission behaviour is based on measurements of an existing power supply unit. For further predictions of the reverse transmission behaviour of a complete system, consisting of a noisy load and a power supply unit, all submodules of the existing power supply are modelled and compared to the measurement results. This information enables the prediction of the residual differential conducted emissions of a known load after passing a power supply during the design phase of a system. © 2019 ESA ESTEC.
