In this chapter the experience of the DLR in use case 2 Validation of left turning with automated vehicle is explained. The main goal of use case 2 is to conduct a first evaluation of shifting scenario-based ACPS validation from reality to simulation by executing comparable test scenarios on proving ground and simulation (as a Vehicle-in-the-Loop (ViL)). First, the challenges to create a complete 3D virtual Simulation environment are discussed. These include selection of the appropriate geographical data and applying processing tool chains to generate the OpenDRIVE road network description. Second, the approach followed to conduct a comparative test campaign in simulation and proving includingthe development of the required models in simulation is described. Finally, first results are presented and some conclusions are drawn.
