Abstract

Turbulent flow of a binary fluid mixture through a differentially heated channel geometry is simulated. Buoyancy contributions from solutal gradients are treated within the Boussinesq approximation. The validity of the Approximation and the effects of an extended model including changing fluid properties are investigated.
