Abstract
What is the maximum detour for ride pooling that is accepted from the passengers’ point of view? We address this question by determining the accepted detour of conventional public line transport, which is being accepted by its passengers. This is done using the Google Maps Routing application programming interface (API) for analyzing the travel times of different means of transport in 13 German cities. From the identified travel time ratios of public transport and motorized individual transport conclusions are drawn about the maximum reasonable detour when using ride pooling.
