Abstract

To assess runway capacity enhancements, it is necessary to know how they influence ca-pacity. Based on this circumstance and current literature, the simulation model CORE has been derived, able to assess the impact of current procedures and technologies. The emphasis here is on the modular approach as well as the investigation of sensitivities. Among each airport group/class, results will lead to a better understanding of enhancements impact, in combination with runway infrastructure or traffic mix changes. Additional on the basis of normalized airports a reduction on individual airport scenarios may occur. This paper in-cludes the methodology to adequately assess enhancements in terms of a detailed description on the simulation model developed. In addition a first comparison with other simulation models is made.
