Abstract

The report reviews the TAU-Takanashi inverse design and the TAU adjoint gradient-based optimization process. The optimization process was successfully used for solving airfoil inverse design problems including optimizing lift, drag and pitching moment. For 3D inverse design Problems with twist, the TAU gradient-based optimization tried to approach to the target pressure distribution and geometry but a perfect match could not be achieved.
