Abstract

When using deconvolution algorithms for the improvement of beamforming results, the family of DAMAS-algorithms has shown to be very useful. One member of this family – the DAMAS2 algorithm – comes into focus when one is concerned with computational speed and efficient memory usage. The algorithm is especially suited for wavenumber beamforming, since it requires a shift-invariant point-spread function for best results. During application of this method, it was noticed that the results can be even improved when increasing the size of the point-spread function. This further enhancement of the algorithm will be presented in examples and discussed.
