This report describes the application of the 2D throughflow program STAC4T. The program computes the axisymmetric flow along the S2m-plane in axial and radial direction, thus circumferential effects as for instance blade forces are considered in the underlying basic equations. The program is based on the matrix or streamfunction method, which allows backflows as for instance in diffusors or at part load. In contrast, the throughflow program SLC4T uses the streamline curvature method, which is capable to compute supersonic flows. In STAC4T the flow quantities are computed at finite elements. Currently, only the Traupel loss correlations are implemented. A preprocessing grid generator, an interface to DLR's BladecGenerator and an output option to provide an initial solution for TRACE is also explained. Due to it's fast computation speed, the calculation of performance maps is possible. The accompanying report DLR-IB 225 - 2015 A 02 B provides much more additional details and background information for future developers of the program.
