The simulation campaign “Rudimentary Arrival management on Flexible Airspaces” (RAMFA) examines the problem of complex merge point structures on behalf of a most simple controller assistance. While other DLR projects (FAGI, flexiGuide) assume that air traffic controllers need a high-sophisticated arrival management tool with a broad bandwidth of functionalities, RAMFA will support the controller only with a sequencing display. Thereby the sequence of arriving aircraft can be estimated, but actions to rearrange this sequence cannot be derived from the system. RAMFA was split into two parts. The RAMFA 1a simulation trials have been conducted with trained ATM experts who had an extensive training on the airspace. These trials as well as the basic RAMFA concept and the description of working positions, scenarios, etc. can be retrieved from the RAMFA 1a validation report (cf. [1]). This document will describe the validation of RAMFA 1b. These trials followed exactly the same structure as the RAMFA 1a trials except for the selected experimental subjects. Within RAMFA 1b, professional air traffic controllers conducted the trials.
