Kurzfassung
Hybrid RANS/LES simulations of the DLR-F15 three-element airfoil flow near stall conditions were conducted using the unstructured compressible DLR-TAU code and the incompressible version of the structured NTS code. Despite different spatial discretization order (TAU: 2nd-order, NTS: 4th-order), both codes are shown to agree well w.r.t. the mean-flow results, e.g. pressure and skin-friction distributions, separation locations, and resolved turbulence quantities. Only w.r.t. to aero-acoustic quantities, such as root-mean-square values of pressure fluctuations, considerable differences are observed. Overall, the simulations are considered physically plausible and show the basic applicability of advanced hybrid RANS/LES approaches to such a complex aeronautical flow problem.
