Normative long-term scenarios for Germany

Kurzfassung

The energy systems analysis group at the DLR develops long-term scenarios using target-oriented approaches. Comparing the present situation and targets for the future and taking into account potentials and costs of new technologies, economic, political and social realities, interests, and the resulting barriers or incentives results in largely consistent development paths which point out required measures to achieve a more sustainable energy system. In-depth scenario studies describing energy transition pathways for Germany are based on projects carried out in previous years by the DLR with varying project partners for the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, and Nuclear Safety (BMU) and the Federal Environment Agency (UBA).
