Abstract

After gaining working experience by many years of learning, safety experts work in interdisciplinary teams, sometimes companywide or as a hired specialist. Planes are usually used and maintained over decades. Both scenarios require a safety data exchange over a long time to support development and maintenance. Addressing those needs a survey was developed to evaluate application of safety methods and tools in context of a European project. Based on engineering knowledge and the survey findings, we will show an approach combining system and safety engineering needs. Also recommendations are made for methods and tools applicable for an early integration of safety method. This reduces risk and save cost of rojects.
