Abstract

Solar reforming of natural gas is investigated as a process for generation of partly solar fuels in the medium term. A simplified model of an air heated reforming reactor has been developed and integrated into an overall process. Simulations were carried out and the performance was investigated in dependence of reforming pressure and temperature as well as different process configurations. The utilization of the product syngas for methanol synthesis has been considered as boundary condition.
