Kurzfassung
The Institute of Flight Guidance (DLR FL) performs long-term engineering research preceding industrial developments. It’s general business area is flight control and air traffic management (ATM) but incorporating other means of transport as well. The focus is set in the areas of operational procedures, technology development and human-centered automation. The institute consists of six divisions with focus on air transport, controller assistance, pilot assistance, ATM-simulation, operations control and human factors. Resently DLR FL introduced the model-based software development environment Scade from Esterel Technologies. This is reasoned by the architectural change of cockpit systems towards higher integrated modular avionics introducing the relatively new Aviation Standard ARINC661 At the beginning of 2012 first avionic displays and application logics have been created with Scade Display and Scade Suite, e.g. the Primary Flight Display (PFD). Since the beginning of 2013 a change from Scade Display to Scade UA Page Creator und Widget Creator introduced the ARINC 661 standard to the tool chain. The goal is to investigate the potentials of the client server architecture defined by ARINC661 concerning new display concepts.
