Ground-based high-resolution FTIR spectrometers are used within the NDACC (Network for the Detection of Atmospheric Composition Change) to measure the concentration of trace gases in the atmosphere. Fits of atmospheric spectra using the CH4 HITRAN 2012 line list indicate deficiencies of the spectroscopic data in the 2400 – 3000 cm-1 region used by NDACC for the retrieval of CH4. The aim of this work is to improve these parameters based on laboratory spectra. Target parameters are line positions and intensities, the air-broadened half-width and the air pressure-induced shift.
