Abstract

This paper presents a new method for the antenna pattern synthesis optimization of phased array antennas. The work was carried out by DLR and performed in the frame of the ENVISAT ASAR System Engineering Study, Expert Support Laboratories Group, and was commissioned by ESA/ESTEC. The new method is a combination of an analytical approach for rough antenna pattern synthesis optimization with a random process for fine optimization.
