Abstract

The model of Ariane 5 ECA was updated in order to simulate the record payload performance of 10.3 tons (including Sylda and cones) established on 7th February 2013 during flight VA212. Improvements on the ESC-A upper stage and on the EPC core stage have been done to reach this performance. In parallel, the performances of Ariane 5 ME have been updated with data from the PDR (Preliminary Design Review) and some inputs from the development between June 2011 and September 2013, which led to the A5MEa launch vehicle. In addition to the performances to GTO, the performances to Trans-Lunar Injection (TLI) are also given, as such missions are considered in the frame of the ROBEX project.
