Geology of the PHOBOS-GRUNT potential landing sites were characterized through the analysis of high-resolution images of Phobos taken by the HRSC and SRC cameras on-board of MARS-EXPRESS spacecraft. Three approaches are being used in this study: 1) photogrammetric analysis of the images resulted in Phobos DTM models and topographic maps, 2) morphological analysis resulted in geological maps, and 3) the analysis of surface colors aiming to deduce from it indications on the surface material compositional differences.
