Nine Years of Cooperation The US/German Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Helicopter Aeromechanics 2003 – 2012

Kurzfassung

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for cooperative research in helicopter aeromechanics between the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) and the German Ministry of Defense (MoD) has brought together scientist and engineers from both countries to work jointly on applied research problems of helicopters. The work is performed in the U.S. by the U.S. Army Aeroflightdynamics Directorate (AMRDEC) and in Germany by the German Aerospace Center (DLR). This MoU started in 1979 with semi-annual meetings. There have been several extensions to the original agreement, covering nine-year-periods each, the last one signed in 2003 for the period from 2003 to 2012. This report summarizes the activities performed in the last period of this agreement.
