DLR/TRANSYS Analysis and sensitivity studies for the FESTIP slice C Concept FSS-15 oae

Kurzfassung

The present report describes the work performed within the scope of work package 4007b of the FESTIP system study. All results given in this report are valid for the FESTIP FSSC-15oae configuration. Most input data concerning propulsion, aerodynamics, geometry and masses have been provided by the system concepts team (SCT) at DASA. In the first part the re-calculation of the ascent and descent trajectories, the rocket propulsion performance data, and the vehicle mass estimations are performed. In a second step the system's growth factors are calculated, under different assumptions for the sub-orbital configuration's dry mass ratio. Vehicle sensitivities concerning the payloard are regarded for the ascent for different engine performances, different dry mass, and different target altitude. Reentry sensitivities of maximum heat flux and integral heat load for a variation in vehicle mass and altitude are presented. In a final investigation the influence of a second, revised aerodynamic data set, and of fixed nozzle rocket engines on payload performance is analyzed.
