Abstract
Three campaigns were performed at Lake Constance in 2003 for validating MERIS products for inland waters. Optical and biochemical parameters were measured from ship, and multispectral image data with high geometric resolution were obtained from airborne (ROSIS, HYMAP) and satellite (CHRIS-PROBA) sensors. In the paper a subset of the data is analyzed. For September 19, 2003, the data quality of the MERIS full-resolution Level-2 ESA products total suspended matter, chlorophyll, yellow substance, aerosol optical depth, aerosol epsilon, and reflectance of bands 1 to 11 is discussed, and the values of these parameters are compared with in-situ measurements at 6 stations.
