Abstract
The concept for operating SCIAMACHY in the first part of the Commissioning Phase is presented. Based on the definitions and implementations for nominal operations, a complex interaction between engineering and scientific activities has been developed by SOST and Astrium. It is shown that the selected approach allowed the successful execution of the required and planned instrument functional checkout, performance, calibration and early validation measurements. Operations in SODAP also ensured the operational readiness of the mission planning and command & control interfaces between SOST and ENVISAT.
