Abstract

The effect of interlaminar defects on stiffness and strength of 3-point bending samples is predicted by cohesive zone finite element modelling. The defect informations are extracted from micro-computer tomography analysis and transferred into 2D-FE-models. The investigated material is carbon fibre reinforced Silicon carbide, C/C-SiC.
