Abstract

A comparison is made of GOME solar spectra measured during the lifetime of the sensor with a solar reference. An algorithm has been developed to describe the degradation of solar measurements, using polynomials of low degree. Etalon and dichroic changes dominate the residuals. In channel 1 at low wavelengths the parametrisation does not work after April 1999, (mainly) due to changing solar activity
