Market shares and prospects of electric vehicles in Europe: The case Germany

Abstract

The first part of the presentation is about the expectations of European Union and the German government on electric vehicles and programs in place already to support this new technology. This will be followed by an analysis of recent market developments of EVs in Europe including an analysis of the impact of supporting governmental schemes. After this introduction a methodology is presented to measure the impact of different policies on the market development for electric vehicles in Germany. The results will be shown for a business as usual scenario as well as a two measures: (1) widely available charing infrastructure and (2) increasing fuel prices.
