Metal fastening is the only state-of-the-art joining technique used in aerospace industry when dealing with primary structures. From composite materials view, resistance welding as well as the hybrid joining of thermoset and thermoplastic parts are highly promising technologies for future applications when dealing with higher integration levels of aerospace components.
