Abstract

Results of wind tunnel tests are reported for the DLR-F17E model whose configuration is also known as SACCON geometry in the literature. The measurements were performed both, in the low-speed tunnel 1MG of DLR and in the transonic wind tunnel DNW-TWG of the German Dutch Wind Tunnels. In both tunnels the model was mounted on a rear sting. Forces and moments were determined with a 6-component strain gauge balance contained within the fuselage. The dependence of forces and moments on the angles of attack, side slip and roll were determined for Reynolds numbers formed with the mean aerodynamic chord and for Mach numbers in the range 0.23 M < Re < 2.45 M and 0.05 < M < 0.75, respectively.
