Abstract

Reducing the vehicle mass and hence the demand for lightweight construction are gaining increasing importance for rail vehicles. There are many reasons for this which depend on the requirements made on the vehicle. Under consideration of these a novel approach and design representing the rail vehicle body concept was developed.
