Abstract

At the Institute of Propulsion Technology a couple of complex optimizations were successfully performed in the last years. This paper illustrates recent optimization strategies, which have proven their relevance in practical turbomachinery design. The performance of the optimization tools is demonstrated on a sophisticated fan stage design.
