Abstract

Perforation is proposed as an approach aiming to increase stability of subsonic flight vehicles under massive flow separation on a lateral surface and in a wake. Both experimental as well as numerical tests carried out at this early stage were aimed to estimate influence of perforation on flow structures as well as aerodynamic characteristics of the subsonic flight vehicles equipped with stabilizing disks, flares and flaps and, thus, operating under massive flow instability.
