Abstract
Within the next years, a large number of new satellite systems for broadband multimedia communications will be developed for fixed, portable and mobile terminals. In order to satisfy the expanded bandwidth requirements and to avoid the restricted capacity of lower frequency bands, these systems will operate at frequency bands above 18 GHz.
