Abstract

This presentation summarises results on fluid-structure coupled simulations of CMC leading edges exposed to high thermal loads. Simulations are compared to experimental arc jet tests. This work was conducted within the multinational EU project ATLLAS (Aerodynamic and Thermal Load Interaction with Lightweight Advanced Material for High Speed Flight), investigating several aspects of high-speed transport.
