Abstract

Perforation as an approach aiming to increase the efficiency of stabilizing devices at subsonic speeds is proposed. Both experimental and numerical tests obtained at this early stage show a significant positive influence of perforation on instantaneous and mean flow structures as well as aerodynamic characteristics of bluff bodies with stabilizing disks, flares and flaps.
