In this work a flexible and systematic design methodology for GNSS signal design is applied to a case study of designing signals for a potential new service in S-band. This innovative concept of GNSS signal design allows improving the navigation performance without increasing the transmitted bandwidth. Also improvement in terms of spectral separation with respect to other non-interoperable services can be achieved. Additionally, it is shown that the use of an optimized modulation reduces considerably the spectral re-growth due a TWT amplifier.
