Kurzfassung
In this paper a possible new access scheme for an aeronautical mobile ad-hoc network (MANET) is presented. The access scheme combines the idea of a nested cellular scheme and variable guard times. The nested cellular scheme solves the hidden station and the near-far problem whereas the variable guard time ensures that the efficiency of this particular access scheme is higher compared to an access scheme with a fixed guard time. The algorithm for calculating the variable guard time is presented and a lower bound for the expected saving of guard time is given. The question of collisions that might influence the stability of the algorithm is addressed.
