Phase model for the development and evaluation of migration strategies in rail traffic

Kurzfassung

Due to its fundamental complexity, the implementation of a new system-configuration of the railway operations control represents a multi-dimensional optimization problem. This contains technical and operational questions under the boundary conditions of the long-term depreciation of existing systems and the financing of new technology with their typically shorter life cycles. In this contribution, a consistent methodology, containing morphological pattern, value benefit analysis and the net-present-value method, for the selection of a technical and operational target state and the development and evaluation of migration strategies, will be presented. For the identification of the suitable strategy, based on the technical aspects of the migration, the operational and economical evaluation and a simulative validation are to be focussed on.
