Abstract

For BVI noise prediction the accurate wake geometry must be known. Two approaches are in general available in comprehensive code environments: free-wake and prescribed wake formulations, the latter one by several orders of magnitude faster than the former. The paper describes the different physical phenomena that drive BVI noise prediction accuracy and how to take into account these in a prescribed wake environment.
