Abstract

To reduce broadband disturbances active feedforward control systems become more and more popular. The feedforward control system uses the Filtered X-LMS algorithm to calculate the coef-ficients of a digital filter, with the aim to minimize the disturbance. The reference signals of the feedforward control system have a great influence on the convergence speed and the disturbance cancellation. An effective method to preprocess the reference signals is the Virtual Noise Source Theory (VNST). These preprocessed reference signals have improved characteristics in compari-son to the original reference signals. This thesis introduces the VNST and determines the imple-mentation of the VNST in the feedforward control system by a state space model. The last part of this thesis discusses two theoretical experiments, which will demonstrate the potential of the VNST.
