Kurzfassung
DVB-T2 is an emerging terrestrial digital video broadcasting standard. Compared to DVB-T, which is widely deployed at the present time, DVB-T2 promises performance gains because of improved coding, modulation and multiple antenna technologies. Alamouti Space-Frequency coding in DVB-T2 provides additional frequency diversity, especially in multipath propagation environments. Coding and interleaving is done with sufficient depth such that temporal diversity can be exploited as well. In this paper we investigate the achievable frequency diversity gains by Alamouti Space-frequency coding and the additional achievable temporal diversity gains by applying a standard conformable multi antenna Doppler diversity scheme. Simulation results for the TU6 radio propagation channel model show achievable diversity gains up to about 8 dB.
